CREATIVE THINKING & STEM
To be truly creative, students need to think outside the box. A large part of being able to do this is to get to know the box. This course will teach students to think beyond boundaries, allowing them to reinvent the box itself.
We will cover four different approaches to creativity and problem solving through various art forms. Students will learn in detail about different art forms, and by the end of the course they will be able to reimagine, merge and actualize truly original and creative ideas. They will also be able to draw inspiration from the world and express themselves in novel ways.
Odyssey of the Mind (OM) is the world’s biggest creative thinking competition. Students who indicate both interest and showcase aptitude for creative problem solving during the classes, will be selected for competition. They will have a chance to compete in a Regional Round, and if their team wins the Regional Round then they will have a chance to compete at the Odyssey of the Mind World Finals, held in Michigan State University or Iowa State University, USA.
